Welcome to The One By One Foundation!
The One By One Foundation aims to break the poverty cycle in Tanzania one child at a time. After living in Arusha, Tanzania in 2009 Lucy Bradlow, the co-founder of One by One, decided that the only way to change many lives is to start by changing one. Lucy therefore joined with Carley Andrews, another Australian living in Tanzania, to form The One by One Foundation, a charitable foundation that conducts fundraising to support a few small aid projects in Tanzania, primarily the Ujamaa Children's Home. One by One is run on an entirely voluntary basis. Lucy, and a few like-minded friends, conduct the fundraising efforts, while Carley (who runs the Ujamaa Volunteer Hostel in Arusha) administers the projects on the ground. All supporters of One by One can be assured that all money raised goes directly and only to the specified projects. One by One's main beneficiary is the Ujamaa Children's Home, an orphanage for 5 Tanzanian children founded by Carley and Lucy. The home differentiates itself for the level of care and support it provides to the children, aiming not only for survival but for the best possible future for the children. One by One also supports a small scholarship fund for children known to Lucy and Carley to attend the Edmund Rice School in Arusha. One by One is grateful for any support, whether it be financial or otherwise, and thanks all its supporters for helping it develop.
